Some Views

Some of the participants have asked me how from a few clues, one can build an edifice of interpretations. Well, all great symphonies start with one single note. A journey of thousand miles not only starts with a small step, but is also made of small steps. So it is with our actions and choices. These are based on meanings we have given to things from our experience. Some meanings are culturally determined. For instance, the colours acquire a particular meaning when we participate in social and cultural events that are based on the use of those colours.

Our bedroom is our very private space that holds the promise of intimacy. The colours we choose there reflect our meanings of intimacy and associated feelings and expectations. It is possible to look at the range of meanings and based on my experience, I pick up those that suggest themselves easily to me. This is the basic building block of my reading of the answers. It is not exactly an interpretation, because what I do is highly subjective reading. If it helps you in starting on a journey of reflection that leads to a better direction of your life, I think my purpose is served.

How it started

I meant something else, and people took it in their own way. It just shows that young people despite success want the taste of true love. They want to know if they are capable of loving fully, deeply and freely.

I put up on my facebook profile a simple question: Do you want to know your LQ? I had in mind leadership quotient. First one friend assumed it to be Love Quotient and expressed interest. And at the time of writing this the number has crossed half a dozen. I can't handle such a traffic. But let me see.

I have this yen for creating instruments. I rely on Erich Fromm's psychological premises in designing these. The first one that I created a decade ago is the Creselpro, which tells you about your existential situation at a particular stage. The second one is the ELT, or the Entrepreneurial Leadership Test. And now I have come up with the LQ test, the Love Quotient. The test is going to be posted next. Please follow the instructions closely. It's very simple and fun too.
